Urban Wildlife
1. Amongst humans
This lioness doesn’t seem to mind the presence of these blocks of rubber and metal following her : they are part of the landscape. But sometimes she probably would wish they were not here. A couple of kilometers away, another lioness is laying low in the grass, positioned like a sprinter in her starting-blocks. She is hunting. Her approach can last hours, but this one might have failed already : the gazelles spotted her long ago. To catch a prey, the lioness will try to get within 30 meters from her target. The gazelle won’t come close this time. Behind the big cat, more than twenty safari cars are gathered to witness the spectacle.

2. A car is comfy
This black metal thing next to this lioness’s head is the back rod of a safari car. As close as this fly goes to this one’s eye, the lioness gets to these moving metal cans. They provide shade in the heart of the day. They are familiar too, this one must have seen thousands of them in her life already. So why not use it as a pillow?
