As calamari, they often come on your plates. But they become hard to swallow when you’ve met them underwater. On the reefs bordering Dar Es Salaam, they come to you, drawn by the lights of your camera. Drifting over, then under you, they change colours continuously, curious probably, interacting surely. What do they want ask, what do they want to tell? Conversation with squids.
